Yari polled 147, 346 votes to defeat the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who scored 58, 832 votes.
The returning officer for Zamfara west senatorial zone, Professor Rufus Femi declares Abdullaziz Yari the winner of the election in the Talata Marafa Local Government area of the State Which is the headquarters of the zone.
