A one-story building belonging to Salvation Ministries Church, along Okpanam Road, Asaba, the Delta state capital has collapsed.
The building, whose original design seemed tempered with, caved in few minutes ago during a church service, thereby trapping some worshippers, particularly children who were at a separate section of the church.
AIT gathered that reconstruction work was ongoing without recourse to the original strength of the foundation of the structure.
As at the time of reporting, the exact number of casualties are yet to be ascertained.
Members of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, and a detachment from the Delta State Emergency Agency are currently searching for trapped bodies under the debris.
