Daniel defected to APC in 2019, Ogun PDP unshakable – Ogundele

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has described the announced defection of former governor, Gbenga Daniel to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as defection within the same party
and not from PDP

The State Chairman of the party, Dr.Sikirulah Ogundele in a statement on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the state capital, says the defection is not a news but confirmation of the PDP position that Daniel joined APC since the 2019 when he openly supported Governor Dapo Abiodun to win the governorship poll.

The statement quoted Daniel in his personal letter to associates on Tuesday as saying,”Dear Friends & Colleagues, pardon my short notice in informing you of my route to the APC which as you might have suspected started with my supporting Governor, Dapo Abiodun during the last election.”

“We have been vindicated as a party in the above statement, that Daniel joined APC in 2019 and should not be allowed to lead PDP in Ogun State as being canvassed by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his cohort”, the party added

PDP according to Ogundele, remains unshakable in its resolve to provide a purposeful leadership and good governance as a credible alternative to APC Government who has failed on its campaign promises of protecting lives and property and ensuring quality life for the people of the state.

The party urged those routing for Daniel to toe the path of honesty and committment to party disciplined by teaming up with the State Working Committee, to build a stronger and formidable team that will take over governance of Ogun State in 2023.
