The Katsina and Daura Emirate Councils in Katsina State have suspended the annual Sallah Durbar that usually follows the Eid el Adha.
According to different statements from both emirates, the suspension is a result of the prevailing security situation in the state.
The statements further added that the Durbar will return as soon as the security situation improves.
It is the second time this year that the colorful Durbar involving horse riding is being suspended in the face of an upsurge in banditry started in and around Katsina state.
