The Federal Government has embarked on the distribution of grants of twenty thousand to a thousand vulnerable rural women in the Gombe state.

The distribution was supervised by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Hajia Sadia Umar Farouque of who said the grants were given to these women following the harsh economic conditions as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.

The women who were drawn up from the eleven local governments areas of the state were asked to use the money judiciously to the benefit of their families.

Some respite for the rural women in Gombe as the Federal Government begins the distribution of cash to these women.

The distribution is done few months after it had concluded the distribution of palliatives to the states.

For the state government this initiative is handy and essential given the main occupation of the women in the state which is agriculture.

The Federal government has assured of more incentives for the women in the country while it expects the grants delivered would alleviate in some way their present conditions.
