As part of his government’s unwavering support for sports and football development, the Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun will on Monday play host to Football Match Commissioners for 2023 – 2024 football season at a seminar organized by Nigeria Football Federation.

The Southern seminar was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Ogun State Governor and the  new Commissioner of Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, who have generously endorsed and supported the proposal for hosting the seminar.

The seminar will accommodate the Southern match commissioners from various leagues, including the NNL (Nigeria National League), the Nigeria Women Football League, and National League One, in the endeavor to elevate the quality and professionalism of match officiating.

This commendable development was put together by the NFF Match Commissioner Committee, Vice-Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi.

According to Majekodunmi, the Ogun state government’s commitment to advancing football in the southern region and the nation at large is laudable and sets a positive precedent for football development.

He noted that the seminar promises to be an enriching experience, offering valuable insights and educational opportunities for match commissioners from the Southern Zone.

He maintained that the collective efforts of those involved, from the government of Ogun State to the passionate organizers, are poised to shape the future of football officiating in Nigeria.

As the date draws near, the football community eagerly awaits the transformative impact of the 2023-2024 Football Season Match Commissioner Seminar, an event set to chart a new course for football in Nigeria”.
