Jega bemoans failure of governance in Nigeria

Six years after conducting the election that ushered in the current administration, former INEC chairman Professor Attahiru Jega says the government has failed and is advocating a change.

Jega alongside Human Rights Lawyer Femi Falana was speaking on labour and the Quest for Nigeria’s National Development at an event in honour of professor Omotayo Olorode.

Professor Attahiru Jega is concerned about the Senseless killings, abduction of citizens, especially students, increasing Criminality, Banditry, corruption and poor leadership, which he says have undermined governance in the last couple of years.

Professor Jega’s position is further buttressed by human rights lawyer Femi Falana and Professor Genye.

For Professor Omotayo Olorode who is celebrating eighty years, the unfulfilled desire of the labour movement to achieve good governance which it has campaigned for over the years remains a pain in the Neck.

While professor Olorode pushes for tactical change in economic policies to better the lot of the common man, he also sues for more peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
